Tottenham are expected to sell Emerson Royal and are already eyeing a Brazilian to replace him.

Emerson is one of the players Spurs will let go this summer as they look to reshape things under Ange Postecoglou.

Despite being a key squad player, there’s been an acceptance from fans and coaching staff that Tottenham need to improve on Emerson if they are to progress.

Luckily for Spurs, AC Milan are in the mix to sign Royal and that could give Postecoglou some early funds to work with in terms of getting a replacement.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, that replacement has already been identified.

Tottenham want to sign Vanderson to replace Emerson Royal

Taking to X to confirm news around Emerson Royal and Spurs’ idea of a replacement, Fabrizio Romano has said that there’s already a replacement in mind.

That player is Monaco full-back Vanderson, who can leave the French outfit for around £34m this summer.

Vanderson, 22, has been a regular for Monaco and he’s very recently made his debut for the Brazilian national team as well.

Tottenham have to move quickly

It’s well known that Ange Postecoglou likes to get his business done early and swiftly and if Emerson Royal is going, he’ll want a replacement in quick.

Quite whether Tottenham go and pay north of £30m for a full-back who might play second fiddle to Pedro Porro, though, remains to be seen.

Clearly, Vanderson is a high quality player and you don’t get your debut for Brazil if you can’t play.

But Tottenham have to be sure on their targets this summer and if Vanderson is a player they like, then moving quickly is what’s needed.

While the Euros are on, it might be a chance for Spurs to steal a march.
