Tottenham Hotspur haven't had the best of starts to this season, but things are starting to click.

Indeed, the north London club are still mid-table in the Premier League, but a 3-0 win against Manchester United put Tottenham back on the right track.

Speaking on the Fantasy 606 Podcast, Chris Sutton has been discussing some of his fantasy football selections heading into the weekend, and after a good result for Spurs last week, there are a few Tottenham players that tickle his fancy.

Interestingly, Sutton says he has a sneaky feeling about a left-field player, claiming that he thinks Timo Werner could be due a big performance for Spurs, even though he believes he's not a great finisher or crosser.

Chris Sutton tips Timo Werner to step up

Sutton spoke about Werner making it into his fantasy team.

"I've got a left-field one from Tottenham, I don't think many will have him because he can't cross and he can't finish," Sutton said.

"No, you're not going for Timo Werner?" The host asked.

"I'm just saying that he's likely to start against Brighton, and one of these weeks it's going to go for him."

Timo Werner has potential

Timo Werner isn't viewed as one of Tottenham's most dangerous players, but the £15m man does have the ability to score goals.

Indeed, he once hit 28 goals in a single Bundesliga season, he knows where the net is and when he's feeling confident, he can be dangerous.

Unfortunately, finding that confidence has been a problem for Werner for a long time now.

Even in a free-flowing Spurs win last week, Werner was picked out as a poor performer, and he just doesn't look comfortable on the pitch at the moment.

However, as Sutton suggests, things can change in an instant, and it may not be long before Werner is right back amongst the goals.
