Paul Merson now predicts Brentford vs Wolves and shares 'strange feeling' he has

Paul Merson has now shared his prediction for the Premier League clash between Brentford and Wolves on Saturday.
Gary O’Neil is still searching for a first win of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign – leaving the Old Gold sat bottom – whereas Thomas Frank has the Bees sat 12th after a decent start.

In fairness to the 41-year-old, TBR Football understand Wolves feel they did not back O’Neil well enough in the transfer window, but there is optimism results will improve.
On that note, Paul Merson believes it could happen sooner rather than later for Wolves.
Paul Merson backs Wolves to beat Brentford
Despite a run of five defeats and one draw in six Premier League outings so far, Merson is actually tipping Wolves to beat Brentford on Saturday.
The 56-year-old wrote for Sportskeeda: “Wolves are really struggling at the moment, but I actually thought they did alright against Liverpool last weekend, even though they ended up losing that game.
“Gary O’Neil is under pressure now. Wolves have been involved in some difficult matches, but they have played decent football – albeit in patches throughout these games.
“Sometimes when you look at the season as a whole, you want to be playing the big boys early on like Wolves have done this time around. It could work in their favour because it’s better than facing these top teams in January, when you could be facing a whole new set of problems, like injuries for example.
“I’m going to fancy Wolves in this game though. I have a strange feeling about them securing a cheeky little away win. Brentford 1-2 Wolves.”
It would be a huge result for Wolves if they did beat Brentford, giving O’Neil and his players a boost ahead of the international break after a wretched run of results.

No game is a must win in October, although O’Neil really could use three points against Brentford when you consider the fixtures on the horizon.
After the international break, Wolves face Manchester City at Molineux, before a trip to Brighton awaits.
Therefore, if Wolves fail to beat Brentford, they could easily find themselves in a situation where nine Premier League games have passed without victory, which would then surely leave O’Neil – who was considered by Liverpool – fighting for his job.
