Player has 'expressed his desire' to leave Leicester City for specific club – January move desired

Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré spent last season on loan at Sevilla, making 34 appearances in all competitions. He returned to the King Power Stadium after the La Liga side refused to exercise their purchase option.
The midfielder hasn’t managed to find space under new Leicester manager Steve Cooper. He’s been restricted to 13 minutes of action from two substitute league appearances this season.
His situation at Leicester has caught the Andalusian club’s attention. Last month, Vamos Mi Sevilla FC reported the 25-year-old can be an interesting option for them in January.
El Sevillista have found out from sources close to Sevilla that they are considering signing the Frenchman in the next window.
Soumaré isn’t pleased with his limited game time at the Premier League side. It’s claimed he has ‘expressed his desire’ to return to the Spanish club, where he felt comfortable and enjoyed regular minutes.
García Pimienta’s side could take his desire and situation at Leicester into account, to sign him on a temporary deal. They would include a purchase option much lower than the €14m inserted in the previous deal.
The Leicester player and Sevilla feel the transfer will be beneficial for both parties. They haven’t taken the Foxes’ stance into account and the report makes no mention of their plans for Soumaré.
As ever, loaning a player to Sevilla comes with a massive warning attached. The club often treat loan players as expendable and even if they manage to do well, any pre-agreed transfer fee will be largely ignored. Leicester City are still dealing with the impact of that initial decision.
