'Raheem Sterling contract termination update at Chelsea after Arsenal loan'

Chelsea are planning to find a permanent solution to Raheem Sterling’s future this summer after a disappointing Arsenal loan spell.
Sterling joined Arsenal on-loan from Chelsea late in the summer transfer window, as cover for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the wings.
However, Sterling has had a miserable time in North London, finding it hard to break into Mikel Arteta’s side, and failing to produce when he has been afforded an opportunity.
Sterling put in his best performance in an Arsenal shirt against PSV Eindhoven, but picked up a yellow card that will rule him out of the first-leg of their quarter-final against Real Madrid.
As reported by The Athletic, the England international will return to Chelsea this summer, with his parent club hoping to work with his camp to find a new club for the former Man City man.
Chelsea have no plans to pay off Raheem Sterling contract
The Blues are looking to sort a definitive solution in the summer transfer window, in the belief that it would not be good for him to be loaned out regularly.
However, there are no plans for Chelsea to pay off the rest of his contract in order to get rid of him, although there is an understanding that his high salary is a sticking point to any move.
The hope is that Sterling’s camp and the Blues can work together to find a move. Saudi Arabia has been mooted as a possibility, but is not the only option, and finding a team in Europe for the former Liverpool winger is also thought to be on the table.
Raheem Sterling still has a lot to offer to the right club
Football Insider Verdict
Seeing Sterling against PSV was a timely remind of what the England international still has to offer on a football pitch.
Yes, the tie was won, and the Dutch side proved in the first-leg they are hardly first-rate opposition, but that should not take away from the former Man City man’s contributions.
Sterling has always been an incredibly tactically flexible player, it is what made Pep Guardiola build his first City super-team around the winger, as the former Liverpool star adapted from a more classical winger into a player designed to arrive late in the box, and finish off attacks, rather than creating them.

Whilst the mileage is now showing for the winger, having played first-team football since his teenage years, in the right system, he can still flourish, as shown by his 10 goals, and eight assists with Chelsea last year.
Be it a move to another English club, or abroad to Europe, Sterling still has a lot to offer, and could be a smart signing for a side looking to qualify for European competition next season.
