Lawrence Shankland is being tipped for a move to Rangers in January by fans of the Ibrox club following his latest performance for Hearts.
Football Insider understands that the Gers are in pole position to sign the striker when the transfer window reopens in January.
Shankland’s current deal at Tynecastle is due to expire at the end of this season, meaning January is the last chance for Hearts to sell him.
After a tough period so far this season, the 29-year-old rediscovered his scoring touch to help his side to a 2-0 victory over Dundee on Saturday afternoon (7 December).
In doing so, he has generated yet more talk among Rangers fans about a move to Ibrox once the transfer window reopens.

Across the course of the last two seasons, Shankland scored 48 goals in 74 Scottish Premiership appearances for Hearts, generating plenty of interest in his services.
Prior to that clash with Dundee though, he had scored just once in 15 league games during the current campaign, although some have claimed he could still help fix Rangers’ struggle for goals.
Indeed, the striker began to put his own issues right on Saturday, scoring both goals to help Hearts to a much-needed win that lifts them off the bottom of the table.
Taking to social media to react to that brace from Shankland, a number of Rangers fans were keen to suggest that the striker is setting himself up for a move to join Philippe Clement’s side next month, and has delivered a timely reminder to the decision-makers at Ibrox to get the deal done.
In other news, Rangers have been told not to sell too many players in January despite needing a squad rebuild.
