Arsenal have now received a transfer boost after Chelsea were ruled out of signing one of Mikel Arteta’s targets.

A new striker is on the agenda for the Spaniard and Edu – Director of Football at the Emirates Stadium – as the Gunners are willing to offload both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

The Brazil international and the England international combined to score just 14 goals in the 2023/24 campaign.

Now – however – Arsenal could secure the signature of a striker who netted 30 goals on his own last season…

Serhou Guirassy could choose to join Arsenal in bargain deal after Chelsea move ruled out

A story from Sky Sports now claims that VfB Stuttgart No.9 Serhou Guirassy has decided to leave the Bundesliga outfit, and will now decide between Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

Sky Sports add that Chelsea and Bayern Munich were also keen to sign the Guinea international, but the striker “now wants to decide” between the aforementioned three clubs, which suggests he personally decided to ignore the Blues and the Bavarians.

What makes this deal a potential bargain for Arsenal is the fact that Guirassy has a release clause worth just €20m (£17m) written into his contract, which represents a very intriguing market opportunity for Arteta and Edu to consider.

The 28-year-old impressively scored 30 goals in just 30 appearances last season as VfB Stuttgart finished second ahead of Bayern Munich, while he also provided three assists.

Mikel Arteta will surely be desperate for Guinea international to pick Arsenal

In our view, this £17m opportunity has potential to be the signing of the summer for whoever Guirassy chooses to join, and Arteta will surely be praying for the striker to choose Arsenal.

Kai Havertz did a tremendous job at leading the line last season, although the options behind him in Jesus and Nketiah failed to make much of an impact when stepping in for the Germany international – as aforesaid.

Therefore, signing Guirassy for just £17m would provide the Gunners with a cheap option to hopefully change things up in attack, without breaking the bank – meaning there should be more money left over to spend on other targets.
