After a disappointing summer transfer window it appears as if Newcastle United are already looking at potential new signings.

Eddie Howe won’t have been pleased with how Newcastle conducted their transfer business towards the end of the transfer window.

Marc Guehi was the priority target for Newcastle, and they spent a large part of the summer trying to recruit him, but Steve Parish ended up slamming the door shut.

It was a disaster for Newcastle, who ended up being told that Guehi wasn’t for sale in the dying embers.

Paul Mitchell made some controversial comments after the summer transfer window ended, which many fans weren’t too happy about.

But, it looks as if he’s trying to put things right as Newcastle set their sights on a top player…

Newcastle considering a bid for Leroy Sane

Leroy Sane has established himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in world football over the years, and is still performing at the highest level at Bayern Munich.

The German appeared for 22 minutes last night in the Champions League and bagged a goal, but he’s yet to appear in the Bundesliga this season.

According to Caught Offside, Newcastle are considering making a £25 million bid for Leroy Sane.

It’s stated that Arsenal and Newcastle are looking closely at Sane due to his potential availability soon, with both clubs in need of more attacking options in the near future.

Eddie Howe is understood to be a big fan of Sane, while there is a recognition that the Magpies could do with bolstering their options in that area of the pitch after parting ways with Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh this summer.

It would still take offers of around €40-50m (£33m-£42m) for Sane to leave Bayern, though Newcastle are considering making offers in the region of €30m (£25m) to test Bayern's resolve over the player.

What does Cole Palmer think of Leroy Sane?

Cole Palmer has previously spoken about his former Manchester City teammate Leroy Sane, stating that he would love to have the pace of the German.

"Leroy Sane?" Palmer was asked.

"His pace," Palmer said.

Newcastle already Anthony Gordon’s pace on the left-hand side constantly terrorising defenders, but imagine how much more havoc Newcastle would cause if Leroy Sane was deployed on the other flank.
