Arsenal’s academy has produced a number of brilliant players in recent years, with many more top talents coming through the ranks.

Bukayo Saka is the biggest Hale End success story in recent years, while the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are all playing Premier League football.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have high hopes for the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, teenagers who are already in the first-team picture.

Now, a Gunners academy prodigy has just broken a significant record in the UEFA Youth League, on top of making history for the club in the competition.

Max Dowman becomes UEFA Youth League’s youngest ever scorer

The player in question is Max Dowman, who is already playing for Arsenal’s Under-18s despite being just 14 years old.

On Thursday afternoon, Dowman was in action for the Gunners Under-19s against Atalanta’s youth side at the Stadio Comunale.

The Gunners midfield talent already set a club record at kick-off by becoming Arsenal’s youngest ever player in the competition, as per Rising Ballers.

Then, Dowman got himself on the scoresheet to become the youngest ever goalscorer in the UEFA Youth League, aged 14 years, eight months and 19 days.

What Arsenal insiders have said about Dowman

Dowman has already trained with Mikel Arteta's first team and is being backed for a huge future having already emerged on Arteta's radar.

Arsenal youth scout Joe Black recently told Rising Ballers that the attacking midfielder is 'doing very well' with his development at Hale End.

Black added that Dowman is 'making a lot of noise' right now, having played above his age range.

Meanwhile, David Ornstein noted in March that Dowman is viewed as a top talent inside Arsenal.

Obviously Dowman is still very young and has a long road ahead of him development-wise, but playing at Under-19 level at his age is absolutely remarkable.

If he continues on the same trajectory, then the sky’s the limit for him.
