West Ham United have been busy on the transfer front in recent weeks and it looks as though they’re just getting started.

Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme has joined the Hammers from Palmeiras, while veteran goalkeeper Wes Foderingham has arrived at the London Stadium on a free transfer.

West Ham are now likely to prioritise a new centre-back, with Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Max Kilman said to be on the radar.

The Hammers could then look at bolstering their attacking ranks, considering they were somewhat short of numbers up front last term.

West Ham have recently been linked with a player recently deemed “one of the best strikers in the world”.

However, a new report has suggested that he’s not interested in joining the Hammers this summer.

Romelu Lukaku not interested in West Ham move

The player in question is Belgium international Romelu Lukaku, who is surplus to requirements at Chelsea.

GiveMeSport recently claimed that West Ham were mulling over a move for the 31-year-old as an alternative to Lille ace Jonathan David.

However, the same outlet has now reported that he’s ‘not looking to join’ the Hammers and is ‘hoping that a move overseas will open up.’

Napoli, Fenerbahce and Saudi Pro League clubs have also been linked with a move for Lukaku.

West Ham better off looking elsewhere

Lukaku is a great player who’d do a good job for West Ham, considering his impressive record at the highest level.

“Let's not forget that he's one of the best strikers in the world,” Luca Toni told DAZN, via Romapress, last season.

"He allows you play long balls forward and helps the team move up the pitch. Lukaku gives you depth and scores plenty of goals, he's a great player."

However, Lukaku is also 31 years old and reportedly has a salary of £325,000-a-week at Chelsea.

Add to that a reported £38million price tag, and the Hammers face spending a lot of money in transfer fee and wages for a player with virtually no resale value.

With all that in mind, West Ham would be better off looking elsewhere.
