Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Portuguese starlet Renato Veiga from FC Basel.

The Blues have already made four signings this summer with Tosin Adarabioyo and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall arriving from Fulham and Leicester City respectively with youngsters Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman also joining the club.

Fabrizio Romano now reports a deal is in place to sign 20-year-old Veiga in a deal worth €14million £11.8m) with personal terms also agreed.

The Portugal Under-21 international is expected to undergo a medical in the coming hours ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge.

Veiga can operate in a number of different positions with Chelsea viewing him as an option at centre-half, left-back and in midfield.

Chelsea have also shown interest in signing Bologna star Riccardo Calafiori, who impressed for Italy at Euro 2024 before the Azzurri's early exit.

The 23-year-old, who can play at both centre-half and left-back, is expected to leave Italy this summer but latest reports suggest Arsenal have won the race for his signature.

Corriere dello Sport report Arsenal expect to have a bid of €55million accepted by Bologna having already agreed personal terms to bring him to north London.

He is said to have agreed a four-year deal to become Arsenal's first major addition of the summer.

Back at Chelsea, the club are still hoping to sign a new striker to bolster Enzo Maresca's attacking options ahead of the new season.

Nicolas Jackson scored 17 times in his debut season but further firepower could be required.

Chelsea were among the clubs keen to sign RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko but the Slovenia international has opted to remain in Germany for at least one more season.

Atletico Madrid's Samu Omorodion is thought to be another option under consideration but latest reports suggest the La Liga giants have rejected an offer of £42m.

Chelsea will need to drastically improve their offer to bring the Spain Under-21 star to Stamford Bridge and may have to meet his release clause which stands at just under £70m.
