Tottenham Hotspur have seemingly extended their support to Ange Postecoglou by becoming one of the few Premier League clubs to make a signing this month by wrapping up a move for Antonin Kinsky.

Brighton and Brentford eyed Tottenham’s Kinsky as well as Celtic but the former Slavia Prague ultimately opted for a move to N17. Kinsky is ready to face Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final as Spurs continue to miss Guglielmo Vicario’s presence in between the sticks after he suffered a right ankle injury earlier this season

After a promising start in net from Fraser Forster for Tottenham, he has shown in recent weeks that he is well past his prime, especially against Manchester United where the 36-year-old had a nightmarish time.

In Antonin Kinsky, the Lilywhites will be hoping that they have made a shrewd signing.

Tottenham see Antonin Kinsky as genuine competition for Guglielmo Vicario.

As per a report by Football.London, the 21-year-old’s signing is one that showcases how much work sporting director Johan Lange does in the background before making any move in the transfer window.

Since heading to Tottenham, Vicario has established his reputation as one of the Premier League’s best goalkeepers.

However, the report states that Tottenham view Kinsky as genuine competition for the former Udinese shotstopper rather than as a mere understudy to their number one.

Several other clubs were interested in signing the Spurs goalkeeper, with plans in place to make a move for him by the end of the 2024/2025 season.

Furthermore, Johan Lange and his team, including head of scouting Rob Mackenzie began scouting the youngster during their spell at Aston Villa, indicating how highly they have always rated him.

Lange, Mackenzie and his entire team underwent background checks when trying to sign Kinsky about his family, background and character, as is standard protocol when Tottenham target any player.

Tottenham are eyeing more signings after completing a deal for the Czech talent. For instance, Spurs have contacted Andy Diouf, a midfielder for RC Lens who Crystal Palace have also got in touch to sign.

When Antonin Kinsky realised Tottenham transfer was “the right choice”

Kinsky spoke to Tottenham’s coaches, Johan Lange and several big names in North London, realising that he had made the correct decision by signing for them,

“I spoke with the coaches, I spoke with the sporting director, almost with everyone and I really got the feeling that this is going to be the right choice.”

Kinsky also expressed that he feels honoured to sign for one of the biggest clubs across European and world football.

“It's been amazing to sign the contract. Tottenham is a big name in Europe and the world, especially in the Czech Republic, so for me, it's a big honour and I'm really happy.”
