Chelsea are continuing to work on Enzo Maresca’s squad by reducing the numbers and keeping an eye out for quality to be added.

TBR Football understands that Chelsea are open to offers for several players this month as they look to fund moves elsewhere.

The West London club appear keen to sign a defender this month with Chelsea eyeing a move for Marc Guehi but they would likely need to sell before buying.

Juventus have now set their sights on one of the Blues’ fringe players who is no longer being used by Maresca and this could help their Chelsea’s pursuit of a new defender.

Juventus considering move for Chelsea’s Axel Disasi

Juventus are working to strengthen their defence and have identified Chelsea’s Axel Disasi as a new target, according to Sky Sport.

The defender has fallen out of favour with Enzo Maresca having played just five times in the Premier League this season.

The 26-year-old’s versatility is something that appeals to the Old Lady with the Frenchman able to play centre-back and right-back.

Chelsea are open to letting their £38 million signing leave this month and the Blues will accept a loan with an obligation to buy based on performance-related clauses.

What Enzo Marseca said about signing another defender?

Marseca has played down plans for Chelsea to bring in another central defender this month despite admitting his admiration for Guehi.

The Italian manager revealed that he was also happy with his defensive options already and suggested they will not be adding to their squad in January.

Speaking before the game against Morecambe, Maresca told the media: “I like Marc for sure, but he is not our player.

“I also like the central defenders we have. I also like central defenders in Italy, Spain and France, but it does not mean we are going to buy those players.
