Man United fans: Andy Madley 'must be sacked' after 'disgusting' Arsenal call

Man United fans are calling for referee Andy Madley to be dismissed from his position after his officiating during their clash v Arsenal.

Ruben Amorim’s side progressed into the fourth round of the FA Cup at the Emirates after Bruno Fernandes’ opening goal was cancelled out by Gabriel’s volley, which sent the game into extra time and eventually saw United win on penalties.

However, it was the match official who grabbed the attention of the travelling supporters, who were left stunned by the inconsistency and standard of his decision-making.

The major talking point came after a penalty was awarded to Kai Havertz for what seemed to be a dive in the box, but United were rescued as Altay Bayindir saved the spot kick.

Also, particularly in the early stages, the game saw a series of fouls disrupting the flow and preventing either side from finding their rhythm.

On top of that, United saw Lisandro Martinez, Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire were all handed yellow-cards for cynical and reckless challenges on their opponents.

Diogo Dalot then saw red for a heavy challenge in midfield, diving into the challenge and earning a second yellow card after he had already been booked in the first half.

However, United fans have insisted they were treated unfairly throughout, with Arsenal given the rub of the green in terms of the decisions and bookings handed out.

Referees and PGMOL have been the focus of attention on a number of occasions this season, with fans becoming impatient and losing trust in the officials.

Against Arsenal, the succession of fouls and inconsistencies in decision-making have led to widespread calls for Madley to be removed from officiating their games.

Taking to social media during the FA Cup third round clash, United fans expressed their anger as the referee was labelled “disgusting” and “an absolute disgrace”.
