Liverpool have started the process of identifying potential Trent Alexander-Arnold replacements.

Alexander-Arnold’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, which will allow him to depart on a free transfer.

Real Madrid are interested in signing Alexander-Arnold and whilst he stalls on renewing his deal, Liverpool have to have a replacement lined up.

With that said, they’ve been given encouragement in their bid to sign a right-back in Spain.

Sevilla will consider £16m bid for Juanlu Sanchez

TBR reported last week that Liverpool are considering a move for Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez.

Now, it has just come to light, that the La Liga outfit would consider a bid in the region of £16m for Sanchez, according to Vamos Mi Sevilla.

The Spain under-21 international has a release clause in his deal worth £25m but Sevilla could sanction his sale for less than that.

That should provide Liverpool with great encouragement and belief that they can land his signature for an affordable price.

Juanlu Sanchez profile

Sanchez typically operates as a right-back but has played in midfield this season, evincing his terrific versatility.

Remakbly, the Spaniard ranks in the top one per cent for tackles per 90 compared to his positional peers across Europe, as per FBref.

Further, he sits in the top eight per cent for successful take-ons, amplifying his terrific dribbling ability, too.

So, all things considered, Sanchez would be a pretty decent replacement for Alexander-Arnold, should he leave.
