Newcastle United are already plotting their January business.

The Magpies endured an underwhelming summer transfer window as they missed out on a number of top targets.

Eddie Howe was keen to bring in Marc Guehi and a right-winger but failed to bring in either before the deadline.

So evidently, there’s plenty of work to be done in the winter transfer window and with that said, Newcastle are already eyeing a Premier League striker.

Newcastle eyeing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran

According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle are eyeing Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran ahead of the January transfer window.

Despite his outstanding start to the season, netting five times in seven outings, Unai Emery remains open to offloading Duran.

Chelsea have also emerged as a potential suitor this winter and won’t rule out making a fresh approach for the 20-year-old.

Serie A giants AC Milan have been put on red alert, too.

Aston Villa will consider offers in the region of £40m for Duran in January.

The Columbia international is unlikely to displace Ollie Watkins in the starting 11, so clearly the club don’t want to bench such a valuable asset – in the risk his stock begins to fall.

Though, Emery would only be willing to sacntion his sale if funds were reinvested back into his squad.
