Report: Newcastle want to sign £29m attacker who plays just like Jadon Sancho
Today at 05:41 AM
Newcastle United endured a really tough summer transfer window.
Newcastle missed out on Marc Guehi, who was a top target for Eddie Howe and they also failed to land a right winger.
Howe was also left frustrated by the sales of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh, so evidently there’s outstanding work to be done on the squad in January.
With that said, a fresh rumour has just emerged linking Newcastle to an attacker on the continent.

Newcastle want to sign Oscar Gloukh
According to CaughtOffside, Newcastle are showing a strong interest in Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Oscar Gloukh.
The Austrian giants are willing to listen to offers of around £29m for Gloukh – who’s netted five league goals in seven outings so far this term.
The Magpies aren’t alone in their interest, however, as Arsenal and Aston Villa are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.
Gloukh is thought to be open to a move to the Premier League.
Gloukh has been likened to Jadon Sancho
Interestingly, Gloukh’s underlying data (per FBref) suggests he is of a similar profile to Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho.
If Newcastle were to land his signature, he’d likely compete with Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes for a spot on the left wing.
Stats per 90 | Oscar Gloukh | Anthony Gordon | Harvey Barnes |
Progressive carries | 5.14 | 3.88 | 4.56 |
Progressive passes | 6.73 | 2.93 | 4.56 |
Shot-creating actions | 4.61 | 4.48 | 3.33 |
Non-penalty goals | 0.18 | 0.24 | 0.61 |
Though, Gloukh also can operate as a number 10 – so perhaps he could play just in behind Alexander Isak.
A telling January window awaits on Tyneside.
