Ruben Amorim has informed Manchester United which position he wants them to sign and the Red Devils are keen to move quickly.
Man United secured an impressive 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday as they showed glimpses of what could be achieved under their new boss.
But it is clear that there is plenty of work to be done on the squad and with the January window open, the club already have a clear plan in place for what they want.
United are keen to support Amorim in the January window and are ready to move for the position he wants addressed the most.
Manchester United want to sign a left in ‘the coming days’
Manchester United are aiming to sign a left-back in the coming days and are keen not to allow their pursuit of one to drag on, according to GiveMeSport.
The left side of United’s defence has been identified as a problem position by Ruben Amorim with Diogo Dalot struggling in that role.
TBR Football reported last week that Man United were showing an interest in Nuno Mendes who could be made available for transfer this month.
The Portuguese international has rejected the chance to extend his contract with PSG which currently runs until the summer of 2026 and the 22-year-old is now exploring his options.
Paris Saint Germain remain hopeful though that they can get Mendes to eventually commit his future to the French capital.
Which other left-backs interest Manchester United?
Sources have also told TBR Football that the Red Devils are keen on Patrick Dorgu and Maxi Araujo, who they have done their due diligence on in recent weeks.
United are understood to be huge admirers of Dorgu and believe the Lecce wingback could be perfect for Amorim’s system.
The Dane has been scouted numerous times by the Red Devils over the last year including in recent weeks, which could be telling given United are stepping up their pursuit of a left-back.
