Tottenham have a number of players on their books who can depart this summer and now at least three Premier League sides want the same defender.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou wants to move quickly this summer to not only bring in new signings but also get rid of players he sees as surplus.

As we know, there are a number of those players in the squad right now.

And according to a report from Football.London, Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester City are all keen on taking one Tottenham player off the club.

Joe Rodon wanted by Premier League trio as Tottenham plan player exits

According to the report from Alasdair Gold, Tottenham defender Rodon is a man in-demand heading into the next weeks of the summer.

After starring for Leeds last season and narrowly missing out on promotion with the Whites, Rodon is facing an uncertain future at Spurs.

He is among the players who will be expected to depart and according to this fresh report, all three newly promoted sides want to sign him.

Rodon, a £15m signing from Swansea back 2020, has never really got going at Tottenham and has spent the last two seasons out on loan.

As well as Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich, Leeds are also keen on bringing Rodon back to Elland Road if the finances allow.

The Welshman, then, has a big decision to make it seems.

Rodon should stay in the Premier League

Unfortunately for Leeds on this one, Joe Rodon has nothing to prove in the Championship and his next goal has to be doing it at Premier League level.

The three promoted sides will all stand a decent chance of doing ok next season and they all have exciting plans in place to compete.

A move to Russell Martin or Kieran McKenna could intrigue Rodon as well, given they are both young managers with bright ideas.

Leeds, of course, is also a massive club. But Rodon – lauded as ‘phenomenal‘ for his form last season – was signed as a Premier League player and he needs to show next season he can do the business.
