Tottenham Hotspur have hit the ground running in the January transfer window and it looks as though they’re only just getting started.

Earlier this month, Spurs struck a £12.5million deal to sign Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague.

Now, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is said to be in pursuit of a versatile forward to bolster his side’s attacking ranks.

TBR Football's chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently confirmed that Spurs have made contact over Randal Kolo Muani along with a multitude of other clubs.

Juventus are said to be one of the clubs rivalling Tottenham in the race for the Paris Saint-Germain striker.

GiveMeSport have now reported why Spurs have the edge on Juve in pursuit of Kolo Muani.

Tottenham open to signing Randal Kolo Muani on loan with option to buy

GiveMeSport have reported that Tottenham have a ‘significant advantage’ over Juventus in the race for Kolo Muani’s signature.

This is because Spurs are reportedly open to negotiating terms which would include an option to make the move permanent.

Meanwhile, Juve are only willing to acquire his services on a short-term basis at this stage, according to the report.

Better still for Tottenham, Kolo Muani is said to be open to a switch to North London this month.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is aware that landing Kolo Muani would show his full support of Postecoglou and his willingness to improve the squad, added the report.

What Kolo Muani could bring to Tottenham

Spurs would be getting themselves a striker in his prime who has impressed at the highest levels and has been compared to one of the Premier League’s best players of all time.

The official Bundesliga website compared Kolo Muani to France legend Thierry Henry last year.

'Much like Kolo Muani, legendary France striker Henry started his career by impressing with his pace and trickery out wide before being repurposed as a centre-forward,' they wrote.

'Both players also clock in around the 6ft 2in mark and cut very similar, rangy figures.

'Kolo Muani also has a languid dribbling style and immense turn of speed that were hallmarks of Henry's game – especially at a young age.

'He bears similar strength on the ball and a cheekiness to his play that will leave Bundesliga defenders both in his wake and cutting frustrated figures.'

Meanwhile, France teammate Matteo Guendouzi told Telefoot in November last year: "Randal, he has the qualities. A confident Randal is one of the best strikers in Europe."

Guendouzi added, as per Le10 Sport: "He's a top player, a top guy with a great mentality. I'm not worried about him, he has the mental strength. At some point, it will turn in his favour."
