Report: Tottenham player with 101 appearances waiting to receive phone call to say he can leave

A Tottenham player is on the verge of leaving the club this summer, according to a recent report.
The North Londoners are expected to undergo a major squad reshuffle this window with as many as 10 players departing.
Rodrigo Bentancur, Giovani Lo Celso, Richarlison and Oliver Skipp have all been linked with moves elsewhere.
But now, it seems another Spurs man is closing in on a summer exit.
Emerson Royal waiting for phone call to leave
According to Calcio Mercato, Tottenham defender Emerson Royal is waiting for a phone call to leave the club to join Serie A giants AC Milan.
The 25-year-old is desperate to join the Italian outfit, who have made him their number one target this summer.
A four-year deal has already been agreed with the option of a further year, with Emerson expected to earn around £2.5m a year.
The stumbling block remains over the transfer fee after Milan’s £11.8m bid was knocked back by Daniel Levy.
Spurs are adamant they won’t budge on their £16.9m asking price, so Emerson is just waiting for a phone call confirming that a breakthrough has been made.
Emerson Royal sale could prompt Yan Couto bid
With Emerson seemingly on his way out, Spurs will already be eyeing a replacement and Manchester City’s Yan Couto has been mooted as an option.
The City right-back has a £40m asking price after a successful two-season loan spell at Girona, so he’s certainly one to keep an eye on.
Though, if Emerson’s sale does go through, attention may be fully placed on landing a striker as they’ve never really found an adequate successor for Harry kane – who departed for Bayern Munich last summer.
