West Ham United are likely to be busy in the summer transfer market as they look to strengthen their ranks ahead of next season.

The Hammers won’t be competing in Europe next term after only finishing ninth in the Premier League table. This is something they’ll want to put right as soon as possible.

West Ham have also opted for a change of manager, appointing Julen Lopetegui to replace David Moyes in the Hammers dugout.

The east Londoners have already signed Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras and it looks as though they’re nowhere near done yet in terms of signings.

In recent days, West Ham have been linked with Hertha Berlin attacking midfielder Ibrahim Maza, a player who appears to be in demand.

According to CaughtOffside, the likes of West Ham, Brighton, Brentford, Leicester, RB Leipzig, Augsburg and Union Berlin are in pursuit of the 18-year-old.

Hertha Berlin reportedly expect the Premier League clubs to test the water very soon with offers in the region of €10million (£8.5million).

They’re apparently open to selling Maza this summer, although it is not known how much they are willing to accept for the player.

Who is West Ham target Ibrahim Maza?

Ibrahim Maza is an 18-year-old attacking midfielder who can also play on the left flank and up front.

He plies his trade for Hertha Berlin and has already made 15 senior appearances for the German second-division club.

Maza also plays for Germany’s Under-19s and looks like a player who could go on to have a bright future at the top of the game.

The 4th Official recently wrote: ‘Maza can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range.

‘The German whizkid has got the vision to create a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and can make some energetic runs with the ball in the opponent's half.’

Let’s see what happens in the coming weeks. With so much interest in Maza, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Hertha Berlin cash in to help their push for promotion back to the Bundesliga.
