At WEC 46, Assuncao suffered his second loss, against Urijah Faber. He lost his next fight as well – against Diego Nunes.

On the 19th of March, 2011, Assuncao made his UFC debut. He faced Erik Koch, but was knocked out in the first round.

He then went on a seven-fight winning streak that included wins over Pedro Munhoz and TJ Dillashaw. However, Dillashaw exacted revenge at UFC 200, thereby snapping his win streak.

He once again went on a good run before going on to suffer a three-fight skid.
