Revealed: Southampton brace for 27-year-old bids this month

Southampton are braced for cut-price bids for out-of-contract full-back Kyle Walker-Peters this month, sources have told Football Insider.
The 27-year-old is out of contract at St Mary’s Stadium in June after joining on an initial loan five years ago.
Walker-Peters is not set to renew that deal with Southampton set for a second Premier League relegation in three seasons.
The Saints sit bottom of the table on six points and are on course for the worst-ever Premier League campaign.
This window presents the last chance for Southampton to cash in on Walker-Peters – who will attract interest before the 3 February deadline.
Tottenham and West Ham are among the sides to previously admire the full-back, while Leicester City have recently been linked with a potential swoop.
However, interested clubs won’t pay a massive fee for the England international – who will be available for nothing in the summer.
Southampton could accept cut-price Walker-Peters offer
Walker-Peters’ versatility makes him an attractive option for clubs across the top flight and abroad – where he can already sign a pre-contract ahead of a free transfer switch in the off-season.
The 27-year-old has made 18 Premier League appearances this term, notching two assists.
He has played on both sides of the defence for the Saints, who have won just one top-flight game this term.
Walker-Peters has amassed 185 appearances for the club in total, scoring seven and assisting 11.
He made two appearances for England against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast in March 2022.
In other news, Nottingham Forest beat Southampton to Scottish sensation.
