Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is desperate for new signings this month and he might well end up getting his wish with the club now in the mix for a new forward.

Amorim is struggling to get any form of consistency from his team and while United are looking at Patrick Dorgu for left-back, a new attacker is also wanted.

With Marcus Rashford potentially on his way out and Anthony heading to La Liga, there is a space in the squad for a new forward.

Furthermore, Alejandro Garnacho continues to be linked with Chelsea and coincidentally, that’s where United’s next attacking target currently features.

Man United considering Christopher Nkunku as part of Alejandro Garnacho talks

TBR Football has already revealed that talks between United and Chelsea have taken place, with discussions over a potential deal for Garnacho the big topic.

But while Garnacho is wanted, United are also casting their eyes over Christopher Nkunku.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, United have now ‘seriously entered the race’ to sign Nkunku and they could consider bringing him in before the deadline.

Furthermore, Plettenberg then added to his initial post, confirming that Nkunku and Garnacho are even being considered as part of a swap deal.

“Manchester United and Chelsea are considering a swap: Between Alejandro Garnacho and Christopher Nkunku. There is no final decision on this yet, but this swap is an idea that has been discussed,” Plettenberg added.

Christopher Nkunku v Alejandro Garnacho

It certainly seems odd that United are considering letting a player go they’ve spent so long developing and turning into a first-team player. But here we are.

Ruben Amorim clearly has an opinion on certain players and he’s not afraid to wield the axe it seems.

Nkunku, of course, if a long-term target for United and they liked the idea of signing him well before he wound up at Chelsea.

The return of Nkunku is impressive in the minutes he’s played but his main issue has been keeping fit.

If he can do that, then United might well end up getting a better player than Garnacho anyway.
