Celtic star Nicolas Kuhn has sent a heartfelt reaction to a major January transfer window departure from Parkhead and has been joined by various teammates.

Kyogo Furuhashi, who has been a standout performer and fan favourite since joining the Hoops from Vissel Kobe in 2021, leaves behind a lasting legacy at the Scottish club after his move to Rennes was officially announced.

Football Insider previously revealed that Furuhashi was nearing an exit, with the forward flying to France for a medical on 23 January.

The club acted swiftly to replace him, bringing back former player Jota, signalling their intent to maintain strength in the attacking department.

Kyogo took to Instagram to share a heartfelt farewell message with fans and teammates alike.

Kuhn reacted to the post with a crying emoji and a heart emoji, while other teammates, including Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor, shared their own goodbyes. Johnston wrote, "All the best wee man" and Taylor added, "Good luck" accompanied by a heart emoji.

Celtic bid farewell to Kyogo Furuhashi but welcome return of Jota

Furuhashi enjoyed an incredible tenure in Glasgow, netting 85 goals and providing 19 assists in 165 appearances across all competitions for the reigning Scottish champions.

His departure is undoubtedly a setback for Brendan Rodgers' side, who currently sit atop the Scottish Premiership. However, the return of Jota offers plenty of excitement for the fans.

The Portuguese winger was a standout performer during his previous spell at Celtic, racking up 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 appearances under Ange Postecoglou.

As Rodgers’ side edge closer to another league title, Jota's return is expected to boost hopes for more silverware, with fans eyeing not just domestic glory but also a competitive Champions League campaign.

Football Insider Verdict

Kyogo was beloved at Celtic, and his departure will leave a void in the squad. However, Jota's return provides an exciting opportunity for the team to seamlessly integrate a familiar and proven talent.

His comeback could be a pivotal factor in Celtic's continued pursuit of success this season.

In other news, Celtic are plotting a move to sign a £10 million rated striker before the window ends.
