TBR Football have received information from RB Leipzig sources on Benjamin Sesko amid rumours claiming Arsenal have held talks over the striker.

Arsenal are currently in pursuit of attacking reinforcements in wake of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus suffering injuries.

The Gunners don’t currently have an out-and-out No.9 in their ranks, and the likes of Ian Wright have been calling for Arsenal to sign a striker.

Sesko, who Arsenal tried to sign last summer, is now on their radar once again, and TBR Football can confirm the current situation involving their pursuit of Sesko.

RB Leipzig deny holding talks with Arsenal over Benjamin Sesko

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that RB Leipzig that have ruled out a January sale of Sesko and have denied holding talks with Arsenal about a prospective deal.

Arsenal have been strongly linked with a role for the Slovenian star – who they failed to land last summer after mounting a bid.

Having lost Gabriel Jesus to a long-term injury, the club have been assessing their options and club sources confirmed to TBR Football that they were assessing the options open to them.

It had been claimed that talks were ongoing between Arsenal and Leipzig, but we are told that is not the case and that the player himself has not been pushing for a move this month.

TBR Football understands that Sesko is rated very highly and is one of their top targets, but he is not their only player under consideration long-term to come in.

Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak is also one of those held in high regard throughout the corridors of power at the Emirates.

We can also reveal that Sesko is on the agenda of other clubs throughout Europe and Bayern Munich, Barcelona and AC Milan have been watching the player closely this season.

The player himself has not made up his mind on who his next club will be.

Why Sesko rejected Arsenal last summer

Last summer, Sesko said he rejected the likes of Arsenal because he wanted to stay put with Leipzig in the Bundesliga, where he could continue to develop as a player.

"I thought it through very well,” he said. “I believe I made the right decision. I wanted to gain more experience, learn more, and not rush things.

"Leipzig is an excellent club that can provide what I need for the next step. Leipzig's vision is clear; everything is geared towards growth, progress, and high goals. I felt it was right to decide this way."

Asked about how the transfer rumours affected him, Sesko continued: "I can't deny such things don't get into your subconscious, it's probably quite normal, human.

"Still, I remained calm despite everything. I got through that turbulent period and approached the Euros fully focused."

With Sesko contracted to Leipzig until the summer of 2029, the Bundesliga club is currently in a position to call most of the shots.
