TBR Football can exclusively confirm that West Ham are closing in on the appointment of Graham Potter as their new manager.
The Hammers are currently in the process of finding a replacement for Julen Lopetegui in wake of the club's poor form this season.
Earlier on Tuesday, TBR Football confirmed that talks between West Ham and Potter had stalled due to a sticking point in contract discussions.
However, both parties have overcome those differences, with the Hammers agreeing to one of Potter’s main requests.
Graham Potter set to pen West Ham contract until 2027 with break clauses included
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that West Ham have agreed to Potter’s request for a longer deal and that he will sign a deal until 2027.
We are told, though, that the deal will include break clauses if certain performance criteria are not met and Potter and his representatives have agreed to this.
Potter had agreed a deal until the summer when he first discussed terms with Potter last month, but talks this week saw him wanting extra options included.
Those talks stalled, but now TBR Football can confirm that an agreement is close and that Potter should be in charge of West Hamor for their FA Cup game on Friday.
Current boss Julen Lopetegui is expected to be relieved of his duties on Thursday, with TBR Football having revealed West Ham’s intentions to part company with Lopetegui on Monday.
Graham Potter set to take over West Ham side sitting 14th in table
Potter has been out of management since leaving Chelsea in April 2023 after previously taking charge of Brighton & Hove Albion, Swansea City and Swedish side Ostersund.
The 47-year-old is set to take over a West Ham side currently sitting 14th in the Premier League table, seven points above the bottom three.
West Ham’s last two games saw them lose 4-1 at Manchester City and 5-0 at home to Liverpool, and their league results tally this season reads six wins, five draws, and nine defeats.
In terms of his own performance, Lopetegui has endured the worst points per match percentage of his career whilst in charge of West Ham.
