Southampton are back in the mix to sign Yuri Alberto and will join Nottingham Forest and West Ham United in the chase for the Corinthians star.
That’s according to Trivela, who state the striker is likely to leave the club after this year.
Two months ago, the 23-year-old revealed Southampton had made an offer for him in the summer window, but it was rejected by Corinthians. He also talked about his desire to make a switch to Europe.
Trivela now state Alberto’s ‘dream’ is to make a switch to the Premier League where he’s on the radar of Southampton, Nottingham Forest and West Ham.
He arrived at the Brazilian club from Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2023 and signed a contract until 2027. His representatives are ‘determined to negotiate’ a move to Europe in January.
The report states Corinthians haven’t yet sorted out the agent’s commission, which is why their ‘hands are tied’ to retain him beyond this year.
Alberto has managed 27 goals and six assists from 54 matches this year and his agent is prioritising a move to England, to try and fulfil his dream.
At this moment in time, Southampton, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are all in the picture to sign the Brazil international and his representatives are waiting to receive an offer.
There’s belief the interest from these clubs could be converted into offers in the coming weeks. Corinthians, for their part, are ready to negotiate the star’s sale for €25-30m in the winter market.
Southampton, Nottingham Forest or West Ham can snatch the frontman by offering at least €25m to Corinthians.
