Fulham had the unenviable task of trying to get a result away at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Cottagers gave a good account of themselves, opening the scoring at the Etihad Stadium and going on to score another.

Though Man City ultimately ran out 3-2 winners over Fulham, one player did something that could well make the end-of-season highlight reels.

Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for Fulham in the 26th minute, finishing off a simply sumptuous backheel from Raul Jimenez.

Pundits Ian Wright and Don Hutchison were both blown away by what they had seen from the £100,000-a-week forward.

Raul Jimenez delivers ‘assist of the season’ for Fulham at Man City

Wright said, as per the Premier League website: “Fantastic goal. This could be the assist of the season, that is amazing.

“Just getting it back into the danger area, that’s his [Raul Jiminez] awareness there. Fulham deserved it.”

Hutchison, meanwhile, said: “Well I’m going early; that might be the best assist I’ve ever seen in the Premier League.

“He had no right, Raul Jimenez, to back heel that into the stride of Pereira. The easy part of that move is the finish.”
