Thomas Frank has warned Arsenal and Nottingham Forest what will happen if they attempt to do a deal for Yoane Wissa this month.
Arsenal and Forest have both been linked with moves for the Brentford forward as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Mikel Arteta’s team are in clear need of a new forward this month having lost Ethan Nwaneri and Bukayo Saka to injuries.
Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be keen to consolidate their top-four spot by bringing in another attacker to compete with Chris Wood and their other forward options.
What has been said about Arsenal and Nottingham Forest’s interest in Yoane Wissa
Arsenal and Nottingham Forest shortlisted Yoane Wissa as a transfer target this month, according to reports.
The 28-year-old’s versatility is understood to be a key factor in both clubs’ interest with the Congolese forward able to play up top and left-wing.
However, as reported by TBR Football last week, Brentford have no intention of selling Wissa this month despite the player having just 18 months remaining on his contract.
The Bees do not want to cash in on him just yet despite his situation although that stance might need to change in the summer to avoid losing him for free. Wissa was signed for just £8.5 million back in 2021.
Thomas Frank’s warning to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest over Yoane Wissa
Thomas Frank has warned Arsenal and Nottingham Forest that a deal for Wissa will not be happening this month.
The Brentford boss wished both clubs good luck with their hopes of signing him this month, however, he insists that a deal will not happen.
Speaking after their defeat to Liverpool, Frank told the media: “I would say good luck [to Forest]! That won’t happen [Wissa deal].”
Despite the West London club only being sat 11th in the Premier League, Wissa has been excellent this season having scored 11 times in 19 Premier League matches.
