Liverpool have gone seven points clear at the top of the Premier League table thanks to their 3-1 win over Leicester City on Boxing Day.
With 2025 now less than a week away, Liverpool are well ahead of the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League title race.
This season’s race for the league trophy is shaping up to be a very interesting one, with Liverpool head and shoulders over most of their competition.
Arsenal look vulnerable at times, Manchester City are a shadow of their former selves, and Chelsea are on the up but even Enzo Maresca feels they’re not quite title-ready just yet.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have had woeful seasons so far and are currently in the bottom half of the table.
The likes of Owen Hargreaves, Michael Owen and Andy Townsend have now had their say on Liverpool and where they stand compared to their title rivals.
Owen Hargreaves says Liverpool “don’t have a weakness”
Hargreaves, speaking on Premier League Productions, claimed that Liverpool are currently the only Premier League team that don’t have a weakness.
“Even though Leicester scored first, you knew Liverpool were going to win, really,” he said.
“I think they're the only team in the Premier League without a weakness. Goalkeeper, defence, midfield, attack. Best attack by a country mile.
“Brilliant manager, emotionally intelligent, makes decisions at the right time. They're steamrollering everybody right now.”
Meanwhile, Michael Owen said: “Liverpool were just too good and they're looking very assured at the top of the table.”
And Townsend, speaking on Amazon Prime, said via BBC Sport: “Arne Slot is getting a lot right at the moment. Arsenal are the only ones who I feel will apply [pressure].”
Tim Sherwood recently admitted he thinks Liverpool will win the title, having initially tipped Arsenal to go all the way.
Arne Slot discusses Liverpool title changes
On the title being Liverpool’s to lose, Slot said as per Sky Sports News: “I don’t look at it that way.
“It’s bit of a boring answer, but as a manager you go game by game because you know how many games you still have to play.
“And you see especially in the Premier League results that you didn’t expect because teams have so much quality.”
