Martin Odegaard is out injured at the moment, and he's already missed two of Arsenal's most important games of the season.

The Arsenal captain has missed recent matches against both Tottenham and Manchester City, but, luckily, the Gunners have remained unbeaten in his absence.

Arsenal will want Odegaard back as quickly as possible, and speaking on The Debrief, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on the midfielder.

According to Romano, Arsenal's medical staff are doing all they can to get Odegaard back in action as quickly as possible.

However, according to Romano, Arsenal are unwilling to rush Odegaard back from this injury as they don't want to risk another issue later in this season.

Arsenal won't rush Martin Odegaard back

Romano shared what he's been told about Odegaard's injury.

"He's a crucial player obviously, he's their captain, he's a fantastic player, they know this injury is a problem for them, but at the same time they hope it's not super long. In this moment the medical staff are doing their best to get Martin back as soon as possible," Romano said.

"We will have to be patient, it will be weeks before we see Odegaard back in action. What they always mention to me is that they absolutely want Martin to return when he's 100% fit, they can't accept another injury later in the season when they hope to compete for all the main titles, so they want Martin to take his time to return when he's 100% fit and that is the mission for the staff."

Arsenal will miss Odegaard

Arsenal don't want to rush Martin Odegaard back from injury, but they will seriously miss the Norwegian in the coming weeks.

Indeed, the Gunners have some massive games against the likes of PSG and Liverpool on the horizon, and they may be without their captain for those matches.

Odegaard has previously been tipped for a November return.

However, long-term planning has always been the name of the game for Arsenal, and they know that Odegaard's absence later in the season would be much more painful than an extra week or two recovery at this point.

Arsenal are playing this smart, even if it is tempting to get Odegaard back on the pitch as soon as possible.
