'Tim Steidten pushed towards West Ham exit by Graham Potter'

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten looks set to be pushed further towards a West Ham exit by new manager Graham Potter’s moves, The Times reports.
Steidten had previously stepped away from the West Ham training ground, in an attempt to distance himself from soon-to-be sacked manager Julen Lopetegui.
Now, the technical director could be forced towards the exit as the Hammers have agreed compensation with Chelsea for Kyle Macauley.
The 38-year-old worked under Potter as a performance and recruitment analyst for Ostersunds, Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea.
Following Potter’s dismissal at Chelsea, Macauley stayed at Stamford Bridge, but with Potter back in management, the two are moving towards a new link-up in East London which would send the under-pressure Steidten towards the same exit door as Lopetegui recently departed through.

Football Insider Verdict
Recruitment has been a major issue for the Irons in recent seasons, with money being spent with little on-pitch return.
Steidten spent over £120million in the Summer [transfermarkt] after the East London club finished ninth in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.
However, the club now find themselves 14th this season having already lost 10 games, four fewer than their total losses last season.
From the Summer business, only Aaron Wan-Bissaka, signed from Man United for £15million [BBC Sport], has looked worth the outlay.
Niclas Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville and Max Kilman have either not played regularly, or performed poorly when in the team despite their cost.
Macauley is expected to be brought in as a major player in the transfers that West Ham perform in the coming windows, he was a part of the team that identified Moises Caicedo and Marc Cucurella whilst at Brighton.
This leaves Steidten as the odd-man-out, with no previous working relationship with Potter and a poor set of players to show for his efforts.
One of the targets that the Irons are attempting to sign this transfer window is Jhon Duran.
In other news, the Hammers are looking to back Potter with two late signings in the transfer window.
