Tottenham Hotspur were finally rewarded for an impressive performance as they emphatically defeated West Ham United 4-1.

Spurs looked set for another long afternoon as Mohamed Kudus gave the visitors the lead, however, an impressive second-half turnaround saw Ange Postecoglou claim his first major London derby win.

Goals from Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma, Heung-min Son and an Alphonse Areola own goal were enough to clinch a vital three points for Tottenham.

There were several impressive individual displays from the North London side but it was an attacking duo which particularly caught the eye of football pundit Tony Cascarino and he has compared them to a famous Chelsea duo.

Cascarino compares Tottenham duo to Drogba and Lampard

Cascarino has revealed that Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke and Kulusevski remind him of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.

The Chelsea duo were lethal together in West London and held the Premier League record for the most goal combinations until Harry Kane and Heung-min Son overtook them.

The former Republic of Ireland international has been really impressed by Kulusevski’s switch into a new midfield role and also believes Solanke’s presence in attack is similar to Drogba.

Cascarino told The Times: “I like Dejan Kulusevski’s more central role in midfield. He is dynamic and the way he drives forward, knowing teammates will be creating angles and options, reminds me a little of Frank Lampard when he was at Chelsea.

“Lampard relied on Didier Drogba to link play, and Dominic Solanke has a similar physical presence and willingness to run and battle up top.

“Since Postecoglou's system relies on a mobile forward to drag opponents out of position, it is obvious to say that bringing in Solanke has given their attack a different dimension from last season when Richarlison led the line.”

Solanke really impressed against West Ham and despite failing to get on the scoresheet, his work rate and general play have earned him a great deal of praise.

How Dejan Kulusevski ran the show vs West Ham

Kulusevski was once again Tottenham’s star man against West Ham as the 24-year-old ran the show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He scored Spurs’ first goal of the afternoon to start their revival in the London derby and was unlucky not to have assisted Son, whose effort went in off Areola.
