Tottenham fans have a lot to say about Radu Dragusin after his Liverpool display and it's not good

Against Liverpool on Sunday evening, Ange Postecoglou was once again forced to turn to a centre-back pairing of Radu Dragusin and Archie Gray.

Despite Tottenham’s late attempt at comeback against Liverpool, the reality of the defeat was that Postecoglou's defence was torn apart once again.

Even without their two starting centre-backs, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Spurs refused to change their approach at the back, and Dragusin in particular looked out of depth.

Gray, an 18-year-old defensive midfielder playing out of position, should be forgiven – he'll hopefully be learning a lot during his minutes right now.

However, judging by the reaction of Tottenham fans on X, there's not too much sympathy for Dragusin.

Tottenham fans slam ‘woeful’ Radu Dragusin after Liverpool defeat

Dragusin arrived at Tottenham for a considerable fee, an international stolen from the grips of Bayern Munich.

However, when taking to X during and after the 6-3 defeat to Liverpool, Spurs fans were not impressed in the slightest.

One fan simply wrote: "Dragusin is actually woeful", shortly before the full-time whistle blew in N17.

Another supporter actually thought Gray looked much more accomplished than his Romanian counterpart, a damning verdict for Dragusin who is actually a centre-back.

They said: "Dragusin might only be 22 but he’s a seasoned international and played some big games in this summers euros yet an 18 year old kid from Leeds who’s a midfielder btw looks more calm and composed as a cb than him."

Another fan took the chance to recall some difficult days with Joe Hart and Eric Dier at the back when watching Tottenham collapse against Liverpool.

They wrote: "Forster and Dragusin are just Joe Hart and Eric Dier reincarnated…get Bissouma outta here too."

Postecoglou thinks Dragusin is improving

Perhaps Dragusin deserves some sympathy – he is being asked to play an incredibly difficult role by Postecoglou, one that isn't helped by those in front of him either.

But Tottenham were warned about Dragusin a short while ago, a player who has consistently underwhelmed in north London.

That being said, Postecoglou did make some interesting comments about Dragusin's development back in November before he was set for a spell in the side.

The Spurs boss claimed that Dragusin was improving every time he wore Tottenham colours, something that wasn't evident against Liverpool at least.

Postecoglou said: "Every time he is out there I think I can see improvements. He is really embracing the way we play.

"It is very different to where he came from, playing so aggressively with our line and defending one-on-one but he’s embracing that and enjoying that."
