Transfer agreement finally in place as Brighton agree to exit – Seagulls set for healthy profit

Deniz Undav is set to return to VfB Stuttgart from Brighton and Hove Albion this summer, with an agreement now in place for the striker.

That's according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that there has been a 'turnaround' in negotiations and a deal is now done.

Plettenberg reports that Undav will return to Stuttgart, who he enjoyed a highly successful loan spell with last season, after they finally managed to reach an agreement with Brighton.

The German side will pay €30m to sign the German striker, with possible bonus payments included in that to potentially take the fee higher.

Undav will sign a contract until at least 2027 and finally put pen to paper on the move that he's petitioned for all summer.

The striker has made it clear repeatedly, through words and actions, that he wanted to leave Brighton and return to Stuttgart on a permanent basis, urging the two clubs to reach an agreement for him.

That proved to be easier said than done as Brighton played a clever poker game, countering Stuttgart's option to buy Undav permanently with a buy-back clause that caused negotiations to grind to a halt.

The German side had set a deadline to get the deal done by the end of this week and it seems they've now achieved their aim, with a deal in place for Undav to return.
