Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will use Alisson's lay-off to put himself in the shop window.
Kelleher is likely to get a run of games with fears the hamstring injury Alisson suffered in Saturday's win at Crystal Palace could keep the Brazilian on the sidelines for a number of weeks.
Republic of Ireland international Kelleher has made no secret of his desire to leave Liverpool and remains committed to being a no.1.
Nottingham Forest were among the clubs interested in signing Kelleher in the summer and had at least one offer rejected.
While Liverpool realise the 25-year-old's potential, they are also respectful of his personal ambitions, especially after signing Giorgi Mamardashvili as Alisson's future successor.
The Reds value Kelleher at around £30million.
Wood for the Trees
Nottingham Forest are set to open talks with in-form striker Chris Wood over a new contract.
The 33-year-old has scored 18 goals in just 27 Premier League starts for Forest, including four in the first seven games this season, and has become a key man for Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
As it stands, the New Zealander will be a free agent when his current deal expires at the end of the season, but Nuno is understandably keen to tie him down.
Forest are already in advanced talks with full-back Ola Aina over penning a long-term deal at the City Ground.
England star in back in Prem?
Ruben Loftus-Cheek could make a Premier League return in January.
Sources close to the former Chelsea midfielder have told talkSPORT his name has been circulated to clubs including West Ham.
Loftus-Cheek took a pay cut to join AC Milan last summer, but has found himself dropped to the substitutes bench in recent weeks.
The 6ft 3in England international, who has ten caps for his country, played more than 150 Premier League games for Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Fulham.
Fit the Bil?
Former West Ham and Croatia boss Slaven Bilic has held talks with managerless Cardiff City, talkSPORT understands.
Some senior figures at Cardiff believe an experienced head is needed to lift them from the foot of the Championship table, with ex-Wales chief Ryan Giggs also discussed as a potential option.
Bilic, who has also managed Watford and West Brom, has been out of work since leaving Saudi Arabian club Al Fateh in August.
Reading's Ruben Selles also has admirers among the Bluebird hierarchy.
