Real Madrid are the current favourites to sign right back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool in the current January transfer window.

Alexander-Arnold has been seemingly an ever present in the back four at Liverpool since breaking into the side as an 19-year-old in the second half of the 2017-18 season.
The 2-2 draw at Anfield against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon was the England international’s 334th appearance for Liverpool, but with his contract running out at the end of the season, speculation has been rife about the now 26-year-old’s future at his boyhood club.
A disappointing performance on the weekend has been explained by some as due to the distraction of reports linking him to Real Madrid.
There has been no breakthrough in negotiations to sign a new contract at Anfield leading most to believe that his days in the red of Liverpool are numbered, and he could even be on the move this month.

Real Madrid are the current runaway favourites to sign Alexander-Arnold, who joined Liverpool’s academy at the age of 6, to fix there current shortage of players in the right back position at the club.
The two recognised players in Alexander-Arnold’s position at the Bernabeu are current club captain Dani Carvajal, who has just 18 months remaining on his current contract and turns 33 this weekend, and Lucas Vazquez, who is already 33 and has just six months to go on his current deal.
The full back areas are perhaps the only positions where Carlo Ancelotti’s side can be seen to have a shortage in options currently, and a right back who possesses the amount of attacking flair that Alexander-Arnold holds seems a strong match for both parties, with the Scouser approaching the peak years of his career.
