Virgil van Dijk, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice all send messages to Liverpool's Curtis Jones after his England debut vs Greece

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones made his debut for the England senior side on Thursday night against Greece.

It was a comfortable 3-0 victory for Lee Carsley’s England side, which saw some significant changes made to the starting XI.

One of those changes saw Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones earn his first start for the Three Lions in a competitive midfield department.

Scoring on his debut, the English media hailed Jones’ display against Greece in what was a solid bounce back after their earlier defeat to the same side at Wembley.

However, it was not just the English media who had something to say about Jones’ showing for England with Virgil van Dijk, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice also getting in on the act.

It’s been a season of progression for Jones who has earned himself a spot in Arne Slot’s plans at Anfield.

Jones has admitted he’s thriving under Slot at Liverpool and that has translated into his England debut with plenty of his teammates sharing their delight.

It really was a night to remember for the Liverpool midfielder who was not only able to make his debut but also mark that first cap with a goal.

Manager Lee Carsley praised Jones for his England debut with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers also marking his first England appearance.

England were able to get themselves back on track with three points which did not include any other Liverpool players.

But the 23-year-old has certainly earned his call-up to the senior side With Cody Gakpo admitting Jones is so underrated.

It’s been a strong start to the season for the midfielder and he showed his quality on Thursday night over in Greece.

It was a complete performance from Jones who certainly done his chances of another start on Sunday no harm.

Steven Gerrard has spoken highly of Jones and admitted he is a player who has the potential to reach the next level.
