Virgil van Dijk took to social media to react to Mohamed Salah's Instagram post ahead of Liverpool vs Tottenham.
The Reds will face Spurs on Sunday (22 December) during a busy festive period as they look to keep their first place spot.
Arne Slot's side rested Van Dijk and Salah when they beat Southampton on 18 December in the Carabao Cup. They will face their next league opponents in the League Cup semi-finals too, so this is the start of three matches in quick succession against Ange Postecolgou’s side.
Their Egyptian winger posted on Instagram with no caption. Instead he posted two images of him entering the training ground in a casual outfit. His teammate and captain showed his appreciation by liking the photo.
Liverpool stars clearly want to stay at the club
Football Insider opinion
The Dutchman has expressed his desire to stay at the club, embracing the new era under fellow countryman Slot. He continues to represent the club with unwavering commitment.
While no deals have been agreed yet, the hierarchy remains determined to secure both players soon.
January's arrival will allow these two and Trent Alexander-Arnold to negotiate with other clubs as they enter the final six months of their contracts.
Salah remains vital to Slot's plans, with an impressive 13 goals and nine assists in just 15 Premier League games this season.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been linked with other full-backs as speculation around Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid intensifies.
It seems certain that Slot won't want to lose three key players in his first year at the club.
In other news, Tottenham are looking to sign a Liverpool star in January.
