What Jerry Jones has previously said about Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke amid Spurs takeover talks

There may be about to be a huge ownership shake-up at Tottenham Hotspur.

Indeed, Amanda Staveley has been linked with Spurs for a little while now, but recent developments suggest that investment from the USA could be on the way.

Jerry Jones is in talks to invest in Tottenham, and that is a very exciting prospect to say the least.

Jones is one of the richest men in America, and he's enjoyed plenty of success with the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL.

As an NFL owner, Jones will have dealt with Tottenham on numerous occasions in recent years as the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium becomes the new home of the NFL.

Interestingly, Jones' status as an NFL owner also means he'll have done plenty of business with Arsenal'sStan Kroenke.

Kroenke is the owner of the LA Rams, and he made the controversial decision a few years ago to move the franchise from St Louis to Los Angeles.

While many fans were against that idea, Jones actually backed Kroenke's call here, claiming that he's a fan of the idea of an NFL team in LA, and he's also a fan of Kroenke as a person.

Jones spoke about Kroenke as a business man, via NBC.

Jones praised Kroenke for the contribution he's made to the NFL, and the fact that he doesn't back away from his principles.

"Let me say this about Stan," Jones said.

"He doesn't back away. He's made a tremendous, a huge contribution to sports and to the NFL. And so we're into the issues of contention here, and obviously it's litigation and so I'm not going to be able to comment specifically about it. But make no mistake about it. Just as St. Louis is a fabulous, great city, Stan Kroenke is a man of principle."

Jones would later praise Kroenke again for moving the St Louis Rams to Los Angeles, via the NFL website.

"Since I was born in Inglewood, since I'm a favourite son of El Segundo — and if you go down through there you can probably find 15 or 20 relatives of some distance back — so I've got a lot of background in California. I'm a real fan of Stan Kroenke," Jones said.

"I'm really a fan of Los Angeles and having the NFL have a major posture relative to the sports scene in Los Angeles.

"Stan is outstanding. He's been outstanding in the NFL and he's the kind of person you want to be with."

Kroenke and Jones have storied histories as NFL owners.

Jones has won the Super Bowl three times as the owner of the Cowboys, while The Rams won the championship in 2022, 12 years after Kroenke took charge.

Kroenke has been in charge of the Rams for 14 years now, and, in that time, he's faced off against Jones' Rams on nine occasions.

Unfortunately for the Arsenal owner, the Cowboys have got the better of the Rams more often than not.

This is in contrast to Kroenke's record as the owner of Arsenal, where his record against Tottenham is much stronger.

Jones and Kroenke are great allies in the NFL at the moment, but they could soon be two of the biggest rivals in English football should Jones' plan to invest in Tottenham go come to fruition.
