Spain face midfield injury headache ahead of France Euro 2024 battle

Spain boss Luis de la Fuente faces an anxious few days ahead of their Euro 2024 semi final showdown with France.

La Roja booked their spot in the last four with a sensational 2-1 extra time win over Germany as France beat Portugal on penalties.

Ahead of the high stakes battle in Munich on July 9, de la Fuente will be forced to make changes, due to injuries and suspensions.

De la Fuente has only made significant alterations for one of Spain's five games at the tournament but his hand will be forced against Les Blues.

Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand's double ban is expected to mean starts for veteran pair Nacho Fernandez and Jesus Navas.

However, there is also an injury concern in midfield, with Dani Olmo and Fabian Ruiz both carrying knocks from the Germany game.

As per the latest from Diario AS, Olmo is likely to be passed fit, with match winner Mikel Merino being readied if Ruiz misses out.
