Monday night's 3-2 defeat to Las Palmas means that Valencia are now rock bottom of La Liga. In 10 matches, they have also amassed six points and only one win, and on this basis, a relegation dogfight seems inevitable for this season.

The pressure has been building on Ruben Baraja in recent weeks, and after Monday's bitter disappointment, there are now increased calls for him to be relieved on his duties as head coach. However, Diario AS say that Valencia's board of directors are not yet considering a managerial change.

Javier Solis and Miguel Angel Corona, who are corporate director and sporting director respectively, have both conveyed to those in contact with owner Peter Lim that they do not see any reason for Baraja to be sacked, despite the club's dreadful start to the new season.

Valencia travel to Getafe for their next La Liga fixture, and they must start picking up victories in order to move away from relegation trouble. However, doing so is easier said than done, given that morale is extremely low.
