Wrexham travel to Rotherham United for a League One clash between two promotion hopefuls on Saturday afternoon.

Wrexham make the trip to face a Rotherham United side who were one of the few League One teams who didn’t see their game called off by international call-ups last weekend.

The Millers made the journey south as Steve Evans faced off with former employers Peterborough United. A dramatic tie ended 3-3, with the visitors relinquishing a two-goal lead before heading back to the AESSEAL New York Stadium with a point.

Evans’ side sit in a disappointing 15th place but there is ample time for them to turn around their fortunes and push towards the promotion picture they hoped to be in.

As for Wrexham, they have made the most of the chance to jump into promotion contention with the fight for a top six spot wide open this year.

The Red Dragons may even go one further, sitting 2nd after 10 games. They have six wins to their name after easily dispatching of Northampton Town 4-1 before the international break.

Parkinson’s side have found results harder to come by on the road though, winning one of five.

Here, a handful of our writers make their predictions for the game…

James Ray

Rotherham United are still performing below the levels many expected of them upon the drop from the Championship but Evans’ new-look squad are now unbeaten in four. They will rue the missed chance to make it three wins a row against Peterborough too.

“The Millers will know they’re in for a big test against Wrexham, but the form on the road is a bit of a worry for the ambitious North Welsh side.

“That said, I do think they have enough to get a result. They might not win but in the long run, a point against Rotherham could be looked back on as a solid return.

“I’ll say this ends 1-1.”

Prediction: Rotherham United 1-1 Wrexham

Harry Mail

“Many expected Rotherham United to perform better this season but they still have plenty of time to turn things around.

“It hasn’t properly clicked yet for the Millers and this weekend is an ideal opportunity to get an eye-catching win under their belt.

Wrexham have adapted well to life in League One and will be in confident mood.

“The Red Dragons are carrying momentum from their back-to-back promotions and I can see them getting a win at the New York Stadium.”

Prediction: Rotherham United 1-2 Wrexham
