Birmingham City are preparing their squad for life in League One following their relegation last season.

Birmingham City were in and around the top six under John Eustace at the start of the season, but his dismissal and Wayne Rooney’s appointment led to their campaign going downhill.

They were relegated on the final day and are now gearing up for the third tier under new boss Chris Davies.

Peacock-Farrell spent last season on loan in Denmark. He played 28 games for the Danish top tier club across all competitions and kept 11 clean sheets.

The 27-year-old is entering the final year on his contract at Burnley and he has only played 24 games for the Clarets since joining in 2019.

His future is yet to be decided upon his return to Turf Moor, but Birmingham City are interested in striking a deal as they aim to add another goalkeeper to their ranks.

Who is this?

The best move

Peacock-Farrell is only getting regular game time when he leaves on loan at the moment.

The former Leeds United shot stopper could do with sealing a permanent move away somewhere and that would allow him to settle and focus solely on playing football.

Davies could do with adding Peacock-Farrell to his ranks as not only would he be getting a more than capable goalkeeper, but he also has valuable experience at this level.

An immediate return

Birmingham City are taking a risk this summer but they are aiming for promotion at the first time of asking this coming season.

The Blues can’t afford to get their summer business wrong though and failure to get promoted this season could lead to problems down the line.

League One isn’t an easy division to master. Several big clubs have been caught out in the past and have taken time to return to the Championship. Promotion this season is possible, but they must go about it the right way.
