Blackpool are keen on Millwall and Hibernian target Jordan Thomas at Cheltenham Town, according to a report by GloucestershireLive.

Blackpool are interested in luring the attacker up to League One from League Two this summer. Steve Bruce’s side are currently sat in 10th place in the table and are seven points off the play-offs with eight fixtures left to play.

Thomas, 23, has been a key player for Cheltenham Town over recent times and they will face a battle to keep hold of him later this year amid attention from elsewhere. He is under contract with the Robins until June 2026 meaning he still has over a year left to run on his deal.

In this latest update regarding his future, GloucestershireLive claim the Tangerines are keeping tabs on him along with Millwall and Hibernian. The report adds that the player has a buy-out clause which means he can leave Michael Flynn’s side if it is met.

Blackpool could see Thomas as someone to boost their attacking department ahead of the next campaign.

Cheltenham Town snapped him up back in February 2024 and he has since become one of their most prized assets.

The Robins were relegated from third tier last year along with Port Vale, Fleetwood Town and Carlisle United.

He has adapted well to life in the league below though and has scored six goals in 40 games in all competitions this term.

Thomas has worked his way up from non-league and had spells at Didcot Town, North Leigh and Bath City before joining his current club.

It remains to be seen at this stage whether they will be able to retain his services in the upcoming transfer window or whether he will leave for a new challenge somewhere else.

Will Blackpool sign Jordan Thomas?

Time will tell whether Blackpool will end up making an official approach for Thomas over the coming months.

The Seasiders still have something to play for and aren’t out of the race for the top six completely yet.

They would need to hit some serious form if they were to gatecrash the play-offs between now and May though.

Bruce will want to boost his squad with some fresh faces this summer and Thomas is someone who would give him something different going forward. There would be competition for his signature though from the likes of Millwall and Hibernian.
