Bolton Wanderers have rejected a substantial loan fee from Wycombe Wanderers for midfielder Aaron Morley, Ian Evatt has said.

Bolton Wanderers sanctioned a loan exit for Aaron Morley in the summer transfer window, with League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers bringing him in on a season-long deal.

It was viewed as a good move for Morley and a good bit of business from the Chairboys, but few expected him and Matt Bloomfield’s side to thrive quite as much as they have in the first half of the season.

As such, with January right around the corner, the growing feeling has been that the Trotters will be recalling Morley this winter. Ian Evatt has confirmed this is the case, but Wycombe aren’t letting go without a fight.

Speaking to The Bolton News, the Bolton Wanderers boss revealed the Chairboys have offered a substantial loan fee in a bid to try and keep Morley for the rest of the season.

No permanent offers have been made yet and as it stands, the Trotters are indeed still planning in bringing Morley back to the north west. Here’s what Evatt had to say on the matter:

“As it stands Aaron will be recalled.

“Wycombe have made some substantial offers for him but at the moment, nothing permanently. They have asked for another loan with a significant fee and we’ll look at things and see what we need to do. But as it stands right now he will be recalled.

“At the minute it is just an offer to loan him for the remainder of the season, with a significant fee, which is around the money we paid for him in the transfer agreement in the first place with a bit more money on other things, ratchets on bonuses and stuff.”
