Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt will be in the dugout against Reading this weekend, a report from The Bolton News has said.

Bolton Wanderers reached a low point at the weekend as they were thrashed 4-0 by Huddersfield Town in a sorry performance in front of the home faithful.

After coming up short in the fight for automatic promotion last season, another year of play-off heartbreak has bled into the start of the new campaign. Since winning on the opening day against Leyton Orient, the Trotters have gone four without a win, scoring no goals in that time.

The weekend’s thrashing saw home fans make their feelings known both during and after the game. It is perhaps the strongest fan pressure manager Ian Evatt has encountered in his largely successful four years at the helm.

Now, claims over Bolton Wanderers’ stance over Evatt’s future have emerged.

The Bolton News reports that the manager retains the backing of the club hierarchy at this moment in time and he will be at the helm for this weekend’s game against Reading. There has been an open dialogue with the chiefs and change will come in his backroom staff.

Two roles have been disposed of, one of which is expected to see first-team coach Matt Craddock leave.
