Wycombe Wanderers want a loan move for Brentford defender Tristan Crama, according to a report by Football Insider.

Wycombe Wanderers are keen to land the centre-back on a temporary basis this winter. They have a vacancy to fill in his position following West Brom’s decision to recall Caleb Taylor recently.

Crama, 23, joined Exeter City on loan in the summer and has been a key player for the League One side under the guidance of Gary Caldwell. He has made 25 appearances in all competitions so far this season, 22 of which have come in the league, and he has chipped in with three goals.

In this latest update regarding his situation by Football Insider, he has emerged on the radar of the Chairboys and they have until the end of the January transfer window to land him. They are sat 2nd in the table behind Birmingham City at the summit.

Brentford signed the Frenchman back in 2020 but he is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Premier League side.

Prior to his switch to England, he rose up through the ranks at Béziers and broke into their senior team as a youngster.

He was given the green light to leave the Bees on loan for the first time in 2023 when Bristol Rovers came calling and he played 34 matches for the Gas.

Exeter City then came calling in the last window and he has become an important player for the Grecians.

Crama is under contract at Brentford until 2026. After joining Caldwell’s side in July, he told their website: “I enjoyed myself at Bristol, it was my first loan and my first year in English professional football. I enjoyed every game and it was a really good season for me, I learned a lot from this. I’m looking forward to my new loan.”

What now?

Brentford have a decision to make regarding the player’s future at Exeter City amid attention from Wycombe Wanderers.

The Chairboys lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

They are back in action this Friday with an FA Cup third round home clash against Portsmouth as they look to bounce back from their defeat to the Terriers.
